Microchip Studio Software

Microchip Technology Inc. produces Microchip Studio, formerly known as Atmel Studio, which is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for developing and debugging AVR and SAM (based on the ARM) microcontroller applications. This IDE includes development tools for an environment to writing, build and debug applications written in C/C++ or assembly code. Microchip Studio can also import Arduino sketches as C++ projects.

Courses that use Microchip Studio include:  

  • CpE 3150: Introduction to Microcontrollers and Embedded Systems-Focuses on the ATmega32 architecture and features reinforced through the assembly and C programming languages.  
  • CpE 5151: Digital Systems Design Laboratory (1 hour lab, 2 hours lecture)
  • CpE 5160: Embedded Processor System Design
