Cooperative Engineering Program

Missouri S&T offers a bachelor’s degree program in cooperation with Missouri State University (MSU). This partnership allows students to earn a Missouri S&T engineering degree while studying on the MSU campus.

This means:

  • No travel to the Rolla campus is required.
  • Missouri S&T delivers the engineering courses.
  • Missouri State provides the non-engineering coursework.
  • Missouri S&T awards the engineering degree.

The cooperative engineering program is open to all Missouri State students and to students seeking Missouri’s most valuable engineering degree without relocating to Rolla.

How to apply?

Program requirements

Review the electrical engineering degree plan or the Missouri S&T catalog for full degree requirements. Once admitted to the program, students may complete all coursework on Missouri State University’s campus.

Program Credit Requirements

  • The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering requires a minimum of 128 credit hours.
  • Students must earn a grade of C or better in all electrical engineering courses.
  • Required credit hours are in addition to credit earned for algebra, trigonometry and basic ROTC courses.

Note: Some non-engineering courses completed at Missouri State (such as physics and calculus) carry more credit hours than the equivalent courses at Missouri S&T. As a result, the total required credit hours may differ slightly between the two institutions. Students complete the same coursework and earn the same Missouri S&T degree.
