Microchip Technology Inc. produces Microchip Studio, formerly known as Atmel Studio, which is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for developing and debugging AVR and SAM (based on the ARM) microcontroller applications. This IDE includes development tools for an environment to writing, build and debug applications written in C/C++ or assembly code. Microchip Studio can also import Arduino sketches as C++ projects.
ChatGPT Pro

UM System has purchased an Education version of ChatGPT that includes additional data protections and has been approved for up to DCL3. The UM System Education plan includes all features OpenAI/ChatGPT includes in the Enterprise Plan, at a cost per user of $240. When reviewing ChatGPT documentation, tutorials, and FAQ, you will have access to the Enterprise features. Please submit a ticket to IT to purchase a seat.

Google AI Pro for Students

Google is offering its Gemini and NotebookLM tools free for one year to students at institutions of higher education. While this is an excellent opportunity to experiment with advanced AI tools, students are cautioned to be aware of security risks inherent with using a publicly-available tool. At this time, Gemini is only approved for DCL1 (publicly available data) and does not satisfy FERPA protections, as all information submitted is used to train the model. Students are also cautioned that fees will apply after one year.
